On Friday, May 12th, 2023 Pak Pioneers organized a recognition event and acknowledged the Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, which has helped the organization to purchase furniture and equipment for the Seniors’ Drop-In Program, thereby enabling the organization to provide culturally sensitive, safe, and inclusive drop-in services for the South Asian seniors. The OTF funds helped in enhancing the seniors’ drop-in program through purchase of required furniture and equipment. Seniors Drop-In Program has benefitted the seniors by keeping them active, busy, informed, and connected; thereby contributing to their overall health and well-being. Tehmina Naveed, Executive Director for PPCOC shared that “The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated. This grant has allowed us to purchase much-needed equipment which will help us better serve our community. We also want to congratulate the Ontario Trillium Foundation on 40 years of granting and building healthy and vibrant communities across the province.” Dr. Masoom Shah, President of PPCOC thanked OTF for their financial support and appreciated the PPCOC’s Board of Directors for their ongoing efforts. After visiting the Pioneers’ Hub and learning about the various activities offered there, in his speech, MPP Kaleed Rasheed for Mississauga East—Cooksville shared “I would like to congratulate Pak Pioneers on receiving a grant for their Seniors’ Drop-In Program. Pak Pioneers is an integral senior’s organization in our community and this funding will no doubt provide the extra support to better serve our seniors, who have contributed much to our community.” PPCOC is very thankful to OTF for their support, so it can continue serving the community.
